We have new arrivals landing most weeks at Pretty Stories but every now and then, a trend comes through that we know will go beyond just a moment.
Polka dots are one of those.
While they’re having a moment right now, they’ve always been a classic - which is exactly why we’ve introduced a little bit of polka dot into the boutique.
Because when something feels both current and timeless, you know it’s worth investing in.
Why we love polka dots
They’re one of those prints that just work.
Easy to wear, flattering, and versatile enough to style in different ways, they bring a little bit of interest to an outfit without ever feeling too much.
And unlike more trend-led prints, polka dots never really date which means you’ll keep reaching for them long after the season has passed.
How we’re styling them now
For us, it’s all about keeping things soft, neutral, and wearable.
A classic polka dot skirt paired with an easy tee or a lightweight blouse creates a look that feels effortless but still put together.
Add simple accessories, a sandal, a woven bag, accessories and you’ve got an outfit that works for every day, holidays, or even something slightly more dressed up.
The kind of pieces you’ll wear on repeat
These are the pieces we’re always looking for when we’re buying for the shop:
- Timeless prints that don’t date
- Easy shapes that feel comfortable and flattering
- Items that can be styled in more than one way
- Pieces that work across different ages and personal styles
Because our customers vary so much with different generations often shopping together - it’s important to us that what we bring in feels wearable for everyone.
A little bit of trend, a lot of longevity
We’re not about trends for the sake of it.
But when something comes along that fits so naturally into a wardrobe.. like polka dots - it’s something we love to bring in.
Pieces that feel current now, but that you’ll still be wearing next year… and the year after that.
A quick note
As with most of our new arrivals, we only bring in limited quantities of each style so if something catches your eye, we’d always recommend not leaving it too long.
